Success Measure Dimension Number 7: Friends

Success Measure Dimension Number 7: Friends

Nov 04, 2016

Friends are the seventh form of wealth. Our friends have a huge influence on our behaviors, our actions and our other 6 forms of wealth. It is therefore important that we should view our friends as a form of wealth and ensure that we keep our friendships.

Research shows that, we are the average of our five friends. In other words, take your five best friend, average their behaviors, their incomes, physical fitness, their love for their family etc. and the average will be you! Shocking? This is true as our friends influence the way we live. The consequences for this is that, exposure to people who are more successful than you are has the potential to expand your thinking and catapult your 6 other wealth forms including income.

The contrary is also true. We become like the people we associate with, and that's why winners are attracted to winners. I am sure you are asking, how do I get to associate with the people that I admire and who seems far from me? It is true that like attracts like. People with high-level formal education like to associate with the academic elite. Physically fit people enjoy spending time with others who are fit.

Religious people like to have fellowship with people of faith. And rich people like to associate with others who are rich. But it is also true that with 10X as way of life (check on my earlier posts), one will be able to put the relevant effort to ensure that they are associated with the elite on the other forms of wealth. My proposal is that let us invade the elite and make them our friends. In return we will be like them. No wonder I was invading the Whitehouse and going for POTUS!
